Traveling with the family is one of our favorite things to do. We are always looking for great family friendly destinations to travel to with our kids. It is especially fun if those places have places for the kids to explore, where we can have fun family adventures.
Bear Lake Valley is a great destination for families looking for a beautiful small town getaway or a place to see on the scenic drive up to Yellowstone National Park during the Summer and Fall months. Here is how you can find the funnest family adventures in Bear Lake Valley.
Visiting Bear Lake Valley
Bear Lake is beautiful and unusually blue for a lake. Many compare this lake to the Caribbean, calling it the “Caribbean of the Rockies” because of it’s clear, turquoise colored water and white sandy beaches.
When you visit Bear Lake Valley you may notice a small town, rural feel. Bear Lake Valley is the perfect small rural town to visit with only a population of 2,000.
Staying in Bear Lake is easy for families small and large. There are plenty of cabins and homes available to rent year round that can accommodate any family size. This makes Bear Lake Valley popular for family reunions!
Of course camping is available for the adventurous family or glamping if you are looking for a bit more luxury on your adventure.
Finding Family Adventure in Bear Lake Valley
There is plenty of adventures to be found in Bear Lake Valley for families. Don’t forget to bring a shovel and pail for the kids! Bear Lake is a perfect place to go with your little ones, where you can play along with them on the white sandy beaches. The water is shallow on the shore and perfect for kids to wade in, splash around, and have some fun.
Have older kids that want to try more adventurous water sports? Bear Lake Valley has a variety of places to rent boats, jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks and ATV’s that will make for hours of enjoyment.
Check out the Wasatch Cache National Forest nearby for a quick family hike or bike ride. There are hikes available for beginners too if you have brought the little ones along on your trip. If you have older kids you may want to check out the guided horseback rides available.
