Dia De Los Muertos is only a few days away. This is a day that is important to my husband and his family. I love that it allows my kids a way to learn about their hispanic heritage each year too.
This year I thought it would be fun if we made a family craft leading up to Dia De Los Muertos. We decided on making Sugar Skull Ornaments. It is such an easy craft that the whole family can do together!
Our Sugar Skull Ornaments were made using Trix and Lucky Charms cereal. These worked great because they are so inexpensive, colorful, and make a good snack while you are crafting. We bought the giant sized Trix and Lucky Charms boxes at Walmart so we wouldn’t run out of supplies. Of course my toddler Juliana had to have a bowl of Lucky Charms to snack on while we were crafting!
We made our own Sugar Skulls with our kids and love how unique and fun each of them turned out! I love that the kids can hang them up in the car or in their room to enjoy during Dia De Los Muertos.
