Having hands-on creative play at home is so important for our kids. Being able to play inside and use their imaginations helps them develop social skills and explore their creativity.
With so much technology it’s easy to forget that our kids need limited screen time and more time to play freely with their toys with no distractions.
Pretend play has many benefits including social and emotional skills that your kids are developing while they are young.
During hands-on play your kids are talking with each other and making up imaginative stories with the toys they’re playing with.
Kids speak and have imaginative play early on. That’s why it’s so important for you as a parent to encourage imaginative play with creative imaginative toys that help them learn and grow.
As a parent, there are many ways you can encourage imaginative play at home.
Play areas– Set up a play area for your kids in a place you spend a lot of time. Turn their room and different areas of the house into places they can play.
I like to keep a bucket of toys that They can play with in our living room. They also have toys and books throughout our house including areas like our bedroom and their room so they can play and explore every day.
Creative Toys- Buy toys that allow them to be creative. Get creative toys for your kids and I love them to build and explore their imaginations.
We’ve always loved Mega Blocks because they are colorful and easier for little ones to build with.
You can stock them to make Castles and building or Big towers with them. My top I like to see how high she can stack them before they fall down.
We love their Sesame Street blocks blocks because our daughter is a big Sesame Street fan. They come with the letter blocks which are good for her because she’s learning her ABCs right now.
MegaBlocks also has fun accessories to go with their blocks, Like wagons and carrying cases which are so fun for on the go or when you travel.
Play with your kids– Your kids always want him to play with you and they learn how to self play through your example. Teach them hands-on Play by playing with them.
Make it silly and fun for your kids so it can be a Fun bonding experience at the same time. The more you play with your kids in the more you will notice them started to play on their own.
Take toys with you on the go- Encourage Hands on play outside the home as well. Take a case of toys like the Mega Bloks Take-along Builder with you when you go on vacation and out and about.
Your kids will be entertained on the road and Will be a learning and growing their hands and play at the same time.
You can find Mega Bloks online and in the toy aisle at Walmart! They are not only great for creative play, but would make the perfect holiday gift.
Kids imaginations are so big they are perfect for Pretend play.
Get in on the pretend play action with your kids. Make up stories and characters as you play toys with them. As I said above, make playtime silly and fun for your kids so they remember their experience And are encouraged to play pretend on their own during times you aren’t playing with them.
There are so many activities that you can do with mega blocks.
With the Sesame Street blocks try to spell out your child’s favorite animals with the letter blocks. Read the animal names and sound at them out to gather.
With your child see who can make the tallest tower before it falls.
Makeup stories with the Sesame Street character Mega Bloks.
If the blocks fall down while you build, try to scoop up all the Blocks you can with the mega Blocks wagon.
Do your kids love playing pretend? What they love playing with Mega Bloks? What would they build? Tell me about it in the comments below.
