This post is sponsored by Google, helping us make the internet safe for kids! All content is my own.
It can only take minutes, seconds even for our kids to stumble upon something they shouldn’t or to encounter an internet bully or predator.
This is something that stresses me out, when I think of my kids exploring the vast place that is the internet.
But, the truth is that our kids have to learn to use the internet eventually.
Our children need to eventually have internet access. It’s a basic life skill that will allow them to to study for school, write essays in college, survive in the work world, and maybe even Google the best way to get their baby to sleep through the night someday.
So, it’s our job as parents to equip our kids with the knowledge they need to explore the internet safely.
The internet can turn into a dangerous place. Especially if your child doesn’t know what to look for.
There are dangerous websites, scams, predators, trolls, and bullies that all like to call the internet home.
It can only take a matter of seconds for our children to encounter these dangers and even with parental controls things may still slip through the cracks.
Keep your children safe from the internet by being proactive.
Just knowing that there are internet dangers is the first step to protecting your children from them.

Google has started a new program, Be Internet Awesome to help educate parents and kids about internet safety.
This amazing resource helps families know what dangers to look for online and how to handle them if they encounter a problem.
Start with their NEW Family Guide which will help parents guide their family through using the internet safely!
One of my favorite features of Be Internet Awesome is Interland, a game for kids that teaches them about being safe online.
The family guide and Interland game are both amazing to help teach your kids about internet safety and open up a dialogue between parents and children about the dangers of the internet!
Visit the Google Families site to get started teaching your kids about internet safety.
