It’s family meals month and my family loves a good Mexican food dinner. One of our favorites are chimichangas, which can be hard to make, but so much easier with my Baked Chimichanga recipe!
We have 6 in our household, so good family meals that are easy to make and feed a crowd.
Read on to get the recipe for these yummy Baked Chimichangas.
I love shopping for family dinners at Smart & Final because there are so many ways to save.
Head over to their coupon page before you make your shopping trip online or in-store to clip coupons that will save you money on your family meals.
You can order online with Smart & Final, which for me is HUGE money savings… think about it, no kids begging you to buy everything off the shelves at the store.
Buying in bulk is also huge for making large family meals, and Smart & Final is just like shopping at a warehouse store. You can get huge bulk size bags of cheese, tortillas, and other necessities for family dinners at home.
Typically chimichangas are fried burritos filled with chicken, beef, or pork (chile verde). You can serve them with a variety of toppings inside and out, including cheese, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.
While traditional chimichangas are fried we like to bake them at home, it’s easier and definitely healthier than frying.
You get that same crispiness and it saves time and the mess.
As I said before, these chimichangas are so simple to make. This recipe is great for a family on a budget because I use ground beef instead of steak, chicken, or pork.
Once you have your filling set up and are ready to assemble, you just put them together, stick them in the oven, and they’re done.
If you are quick with your prep you can have this meal done in 30-40 minutes!
Deliciously crispy baked chimichangas that are sure to be a hit at any family dinner. Easy Mexican dinner recipe idea that is budget friendly with ground beef. Easily serve with guacamole, sour cream, or salsa for a family meal.
