Do your kids love being outdoors?
Whether we are going on a beach trip, family hike, or just playing in the backyard, my kids love being outside!
I really worry though if they are being protected from the suns harmful rays.
Especially where we live, in sunny Southern California. Most of the year here is sunny. So, we have to be extra vigilant in protecting our kiddos in the sun.
Have you had a sunburn as a child?
I remember one I got right after high school in particular that was horrendous and painful.
Something I never want my kiddos to go through!
Whenever you are outdoors with your kids the sun should be something you consider. Even if it’s overcast outside sunburns can still occur.
Here are some of the reasons it is important for me to use sunscreen outdoors with the kids:
Of course when choosing sunscreen for my kids, something that can possibly prevent skin cancer, I want it to be high quality.
This is one investment that is worth it because it’s potentially life saving!
When looking for sunscreen I’m going to use on my kids I want something that:
I love the family friendly products from La Roche-Posay. I’ve been using their Cicaplast Baume for skin irritation, which is especially a problem for me on my face. It works great!
Now I’m falling in love with La Roche-Posay’s new kids Anthelios 60 Dermo-Kids sunscreen.
My mind is at ease using this sunscreen because I know it’s been made with kids in mind and developed with moms, dermatologists, and pediatricians.
La Roche-Posay’s kid’s sunscreen has broad spectrum protection with UVA/UVB filters. It also provides 80 minutes of water resistant protection, which is perfect for swimming or beach days.
They made sure to include ingredients and antioxidants that protect your child’s skin with sensitive skin in mind.
This is great because both of my kids tend to have sensitive skin!
Make sure to get the sunscreen evenly applied wherever the sun can come in contact with your child’s skin.
I like to have my kids apply the sunscreen themselves so they can learn how to get it on evenly.
Using La-Roche Posay’s My UV Patches is very helpful. Not only does it come with a really cute app. You’re kids will be more excited about learning good sunscreen habits, like when to re-apply.
The patch goes on easy, just a heart sticker on the hand!
My son loved scanning his patch on the My UV Patch App!
Teaching our kids about sun safety is so important. That starts with choosing a quality sunscreen and teaching them how to apply, then re-apply it while out in the sun.
How do you protect your children from the sun? How do you teach your kids about sun safety? Have you tried La Roche Posay products? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
