Russian Tea Cakes with CreateMyCookbook

This post is sponsored by CreateMyCookbook. All content is my own.

A few weeks ago I began creating a cookbook with all of the recipes that had been passed down to me from my Grandmother.

Well, I got my cookbook in the mail and it is such a beautiful hardcover, spiral bound book!

I added a photo to the front of my biscuits and gravy. Although that isn’t necessarily my grandma’s recipe it is something she taught me to make, so it made my book extra special!

Through CreateMyCookbook’s program I was able to include all the recipes I wanted and even stories about my grandma in a personalized cookbook.

The last Christmas with my Grandma before she passed, she gifted me the most beautiful basket full of cooking things and ingredients she knew I wouldn’t buy for myself because of the cost.

This was so touching to me and I was so happy I could include the memory inside my cookbook.

I also loved how bright the photos came out inside the book, especially since the one above is so personal to me. It’s printed on high quality glossy paper!

Russian Tea Cakes

I was so excited to have my book before the holidays because it contained some of my favorite holiday recipes from my Grandma.

During the holidays I always remember all the tins and containers of baked goods she would have ready for us. One of my favorites was her Russian Tea Cakes.

So, this was the first thing I made when I got my book!

These cookies are so pretty! You can wrap them up for a holiday gift, have them for guests, or take them to a holiday party.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • 1 Cup Soft Butter
  • 1 Cup Sifted Confectioners Sugar
  • 1 Tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 1/4 Cups Sifted Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 3/4 Cup Finely Chopped Nuts

Here’s What to do:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  2. Mix butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and vanilla until combined
  3. Mix in sifted flour, salt, and nuts
  4. Roll 9 inch balls and place them onto an ungreased cookie sheet
  5. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes

I am totally in love with my new family cookbook and can’t wait to pass it down to my kiddos so they can have these holiday recipes to make for their kids.
