Finding the Best Holiday Light Displays | Pressure Cooker Apple Cider

This post is sponsored by Tampico. All content is my own.

Do your kids love looking at Christmas lights?

We love taking our kids each year to look at the fanciest light displays we can find in our neighborhood.

It is such a fun tradition where we bundle up, grab some blankets, and hot apple cider for the kids. One of our favorite juice drinks, Tampico Apple Punch makes a great apple cider! We share the recipe below.

The best part is that it’s a free family activity where we don’t even have to get out of the car.

Finding the Best Holiday Light Displays

But, how do you find the best light displays in your neighborhood?

Well, there are several things we’ve done to find great light displays.

Ask Family and Friends

Sometimes it’s family and friends that will tell us about amazing lights they’ve seen. We always make sure to jot these down for our Christmas lights tour.

There is one home in particular in our city that always has the most extravagant lights every year without fail.

At this home they pull out all the stops with a new theme each year. In their yard they have giant trees that they light up from top to bottom. Santa even comes out some nights to take photos with the kids!

Everyone in our town knows to check out this home, and we tell family and friends too when we get a chance.

Check Your Local News or Paper

Usually our local newspaper has a listing of great light displays each year. They will map it out to make it easier for families looking for lights.

This usually comes out a few weeks before Christmas, so people have time to call into our paper and report great light displays they have seen.

Check your local paper to see if they have a Christmas lights map for your city.

Visit Well Known Neighborhoods

Our city has several different well known neighborhoods that are always full of lights. These neighborhoods have huge houses that are all lighted up for the holidays.

Sometimes you’ll need to drive through a few neighborhoods until you find one where most people are participating with decorating.

Once you find a good neighborhood for Christmas lights you can put it on your list of neighborhoods to drive through each year with your kids!

Don’t forget to make your Christmas light search fun with a fun treat for the kids! Check out my recipe for Pressure Cooker Apple Cider below!

Pressure Cooker Apple Cider

We love to make Apple Cider for our kids for our Christmas lights search.

This recipe is so easy! You just need a gallon of Tampico Apple Punch, some fruit, and spices.

My kids love Tampico and it’s really easy to use in this recipe since it already comes in gallon size! Plus their apple flavor works really well for cider.

I just love cooking in my pressure cooker because it’s fast and the cider can stay warm in the pressure cooker until we are ready to go with the kids.

You can make it more festive by putting their cider in holiday to-go cups that they can take with them in the car.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Here’s What to Do:

  1. Fill your pressure cooker halfway with Tampico Apple Punch
  2. Stir in spices
  3. Add cinnamon sticks and fruit
  4. Cook on high for 10 minutes
  5. Let cool to kids temp or keep warm in pressure cooker until you are ready to serve

This holiday drink is so yummy, the whole family will enjoy keeping warm with apple cider and looking at the Christmas light displays.

How do you find Christmas lights in your area? I would love to hear your ideas in the comments below!
