Doesn’t pregnancy make being a busy mom even busier?
Through this pregnancy I’ve struggled keeping up with my home business, taking the kids to school on time, keeping up with our routines, and making sure everyone has home cooked meals every day.
Making personal goals for myself is something that has really helped me get through these struggles as a busy pregnant momma.
Even on the days I have morning sickness and back pain, it helps to have goals. I’m so excited to share these goals with you to hopefully make your days easier through pregnancy!
Make sure you are getting enough sleep for you and your growing baby. Sometimes this is hard for me with our toddler, but we’ve learned to adjust our kids bedtimes, so I am getting enough sleep as I can.
Just like sleep you need to make sure you are getting enough time to rest. Recruit your husband, family member, or friend to watch the kids so you can relax your pregnant body for a few hours!
Things change during your pregnancy. One month you can be having horrible morning sickness and the next unbelievable leg swelling. Change your routines for your health.
We’ve had to adjust bedtimes, school drop offs, and chores due to how my pregnancy health is. Sometimes another family member may have to pick up the slack for you.
Get snacks that will keep you satisfied and energized between meals. As a work at home mom, it’s hard not to gorge the food out of the fridge. So, I like to stock up on healthy snacks.
Plus, these drinks are packed with protein, calcium, and vitamin D. So great having a nutritious snack for me and my growing baby!
Do you have any overwhelming goals?
Sometimes pregnancy hormones make the littlest things seem overwhelming. Whether that’s finances, getting the nursery ready, or shopping for a bigger car.
Break these into smaller goals, for example; this month I my goal is to have the crib set up. Things will begin to seem less overwhelming!
Make sure you break up your work during the day. Don’t try to get all the household chores done in one morning or to get all your business tasks done in one sitting.
Make sure you take rests in between, get a little bit done at a time. Believe me, the work will still be there when you get back.
I feel so much healthier when making my own meals at home. But, making meals while you are pregnant can be hard!
It’s so worth it to take a cruise through Pinterest looking for easy healthy recipes that won’t take up too much time. I like to put my hubby in charge some nights and have him grill us some chicken or veggies!
I can’t tell you how many times this pregnancy I’ve over stressed about things that don’t even matter.
Let these things go. You will be much better off focusing on what’s important and leaving unnecessary stresses behind.
Getting outside can be hard when your pregnant and the couch is the comfiest place you can find. But, it’s healthy to get outdoors and go for a walk or even spend some time working in the garden.
None of us are perfect! If your like me I’m sure you are behind on dishes, laundry, vacuuming, or all of the above.
Make sure to cut yourself some slack daily, you are pregnant and doing the best you can. Plus tomorrow is a new day!
What are your goals for staying healthy through pregnancy? I would to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
