What Month Do You Start Wearing Maternity Clothes?

The timing of when to start wearing maternity clothes can vary. One study showed that most women start to seek maternity clothing when they feel uncomfortable… and boy can pregnancy get uncomfortable quickly. Trust me, it’s good to get ahead of it.

Maternity clothing can help to ease discomfort from tiredness, constipation, pelvic pain, back pain and the general constant weight and growth that comes with being pregnant.

How Much Should I Spend on a Maternity Wardrobe?

When it comes to building your maternity wardrobe, it’s important to set a budget that works for you. The amount you spend will depend on your personal preferences, lifestyle, and financial situation.

While some women may want to splurge on high-end maternity brands, others may prefer to stick to a more budget-friendly approach. A general rule of thumb is to allocate around 10-20% of your overall pregnancy budget to maternity clothes.

This will give you a guideline to follow while still allowing for flexibility. Check out these baby on a budget tips to get more bang for your budget as far as baby costs are concerned.

I’ll include how to get the best maternity deals from both budget friendly and high end brands below! ;)

Should I Buy Maternity Clothes or Just Bigger Sizes?

One question many expectant moms have for me is whether they should buy maternity clothes specifically or simply opt for bigger sizes in regular clothing.

While it may seem like a cost-effective solution, there are a few factors to consider. Maternity clothes are designed with the changing shape of your body in mind. They have special features like stretchy panels and adjustable waistbands that provide comfort and support for your growing belly.

In my experience regular clothes in bigger sizes may not provide the same level of comfort and fit. Investing in a few key pieces of maternity clothing is usually a better option for both comfort and style.
