What is a trifle?

A trifle is a layered dessert that traditionally has layers of fruit, cake, and jelly. Today trifles come in all forms for many different tastes and occasions.

What is the best way to layer a trifle?

There really is no right or wrong way to layer a trifle. I love trifles because they are creative and a little bit like putting together a puzzle.

You can layer anything you want from cake, cookies, pudding, mousse, ice cream, whipped cream, and more!

You can cut up pieces of cake and try to fit them into a perfect layer, pipe the liquid layers in with a piping bag to make it look fancier, and decorate the top however you’d like.

Trifles are my favorite dessert to make just because they are so fun to put together.

How can I elevate my trifle in a simple way?

You can elevate your trifle by decorating the top to make it look fancier. I love keeping it simple with AMERICAN HERITAGE® Chocolate Finely Grated Chocolate since grating chocolate is so hard.

AMERICAN HERITAGE Chocolate is so good because they make it using genuine recipes from the 1700s and use real spices like vanilla, orange peel, and cinnamon.

This gives their chocolate a unique taste that early American chocolate makers were able to create with these spices from around the world!

It’s so easy to sprinkle the shavings on top of a trifle for a simple and elevated look.

You can also use AMERICAN HERITAGE Chocolate to replace semi-sweet chocolate 1:1 in any recipe.
