Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tyson Foods, Inc. All opinions are entirely my own.

I always look back on family movie nights as a little girl with fond memories. It was always a great time to get the whole family in the same room for laughter and fun.

Now that I have kids of my own, I’m always looking for ways we can grow our bond stronger as a family. Family movie night is a tradition that I continue in our home. There are many ways we can bond over our family movie night and I wanted to share those ideas with you!

The Easiest Ways to Bond Over Family Movie Night

Take Turns Planning It Out

I think it’s fun if you take turns planning it out. One way you can do this is assigning a week for each child to pick the movie, you could even have a parent’s choice week.

Build the anticipation by posting who will plan the movie, which movie they pick, and what special dinner and treat you will be having.
Here is a fun printable to help you plan your family movie night!

Plan a Special Dinner and Treat

Make family movie night extra special with a family dinner and treat to have while you are watching the movie. Pick a kid friendly treat that they can help you make.

Have your kids help you plan the dinner and take them shopping for the food. On our most recent family movie night we went to Walmart and picked up some State Fair® Corn Dogs, which both my kids love. We grabbed our movie, Ice Age Collision Course from the Redbox kiosk on the way out of Walmart. It was so easy getting everything in one place!

Talk About The Movie

Discuss the movie with your kids. Ask them questions about the movie you watched. Did it teach a lesson? If so, maybe spend some time discussing the lesson it taught and why it’s important. This is another great opportunity to bond during family movie night!

We do family movie night too, though truth be told we must always default to films suitable for the youngest member so really it’s justlittle children’s movie night.
