Have any boating plans for the summer? Always wanted to take your kids boating?

When I was little our boating excursions were few and far between. But, I always look back on my boating memories as some of my fondest.

I definitely want my kids to have some boating memories of their own. We will definitely be planning a boating experience with them this summer or next!

    Fishing

Whether you are traveling or taking a stay-cation there is bound to be a fishing location close to you. Fishing can be a great bonding experience to have with your kids. You don’t have to be a fishing pro either. It’s a great skill to learn with along with your kids!

  2. Salt Water Fishing

If you want to get a little more adventurous, salt water fishing is a great place to start. I have fond memories of fishing with my grandfather off the pier and by boat. I remember loving to look at the vast ocean on the boat and  spend quality time with my grandparents and family.

With salt water fishing your kids will get the experience of seeing the ocean from a different point of view. It’s also fun looking out for wildlife while you are on the boat; like seals, dolphins, and whales.

  4. Water Sports

Summer is the best time for introducing your kids to water sports. Water skiing, wake boarding, and tubing are just a few of the ways you can have fun in the water while boating.

These activities can create a day full of fun as well as life long memories. I love activities that get my kids outdoors and active during the summer.

  5. Kids Classes

Did you know there are plenty of kids programs to help your kids discover boating? These programs teach kids different boating activities and skills.

The youth programs available are so varied from sailing, yacht driving, fishing, and different water sports.

Find out what youth boating programs are available near you.

  6. Rent or Charter a Boat

Even if you don’t own your own boat, you can still rent or charter a boat to discover boating with your kids. These boats are available for all activities including fishing and various water sports!

Check Discover Boating for a list of places to rent or charter a boat
