This post was written in partnership with doTERRA.

I’ve been obsessed with having my essential oil diffuser going at all times, especially during the holiday season. It’s a great natural way to make your home smell amazing.

doTERRA has the most amazing oils available for the holidays and I’m excited to share them with you all. Use these oils to make your home feel cozy and cheery through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years!

Read below for my favorite holiday essential oils!

What are the best essential oils for the holidays?

Holiday Trio

Holiday Joy enlivens the environment with a warm, spicy, and sweet aroma. The grounding, calming aroma of Holiday Peace—reminiscent of wintertime traditions—adds a tranquil aroma to any setting during this busy season. Let the welcoming comfort of Holiday Love fill the air with a rich woody, and spicy-sweet aroma that’s perfect for intimate gatherings and family festivities. Appreciate the holiday ambiance and create lasting memories for years to come with the Holiday Trio.

Yule Log

The ancient practice of burning the yule log can be traced back to European and Nordic traditions centered around the winter solstice, the longest night of the year. Many stories and beliefs surround this custom. In all of them, the yule log brings people together as a source of warmth and a symbol of hope.

Cinnamon Bark

Cinnamon Bark essential oil is derived from a tropical evergreen tree that grows up to 45 feet high and has highly fragrant bark, leaves, and flowers.

Cypress

Cypress essential oil is derived from tall evergreen trees native to southern Europe and western Asia. The aroma of Cyprus oil is energizing, clean, and refreshing, making it popular in spas and among massage therapists. The grounding scent is also ideal for times of transition or loss. Cypress essential oil is rich in monoterpenes, making it beneficial for oily skin and overall skin health. α-Pinene, one of the main chemical compounds and monoterpenes in Cypress oil, helps reduce the appearance of blemishes.

Hygge Cozy Blend

Treasured family and friends will immediately feel warm and welcome with the sweet, woodsy Hygge Cozy Blend. Hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”) is a Scandinavian word with ties to the word hug. It refers to finding joy in everyday moments and comfort in togetherness.

Ginger

Newly sourced from Madagascar, doTERRA Ginger essential oil is derived from the fresh rhizome of the ginger plant—the subterranean stalk of a plant that shoots out the root system. A featured ingredient in many Asian dishes, Ginger has a hot, fragrant flavor when used as a kitchen spice. In Western tradition, Ginger is most often used in sweets—gingerbread and ginger snaps being two examples. Internal use of Ginger is best known as a digestive aid and for helping to ease occasional indigestion and nausea.† Ginger essential oil can also be applied topically or inhaled for a soothing aroma.
