After a long day of swimming and family togetherness it’s nice to be able to bring a dessert that both kids and adults keep coming back for more.
This year our 4th of July party will be a little bit smaller, but I will still be bringing this yummy dessert for our family to enjoy.

How do I make a Strawberry Shortcake Trifle?
Trifles are a wonderful recipe for busy moms, not only are you putting together a fresh desert that everyone can appreciate, but its also a quick and easy delight that can be the showpiece to any summer table.
There’s relatively no prep and no baking whatsoever, so lets get started!
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of strawberries
- 16 oz. container of cool-whip
- 2 3oz boxes of instant vanilla pudding (prepared)
- 2 cases of First Street short cake cups (found at Smart & Final)
- 1/4 cup of sugar
Instructions:
- slice one pound of fresh strawberries
- In a small bowl mix sliced strawberries with sugar
- Let strawberries macerate in the fridge for 30 minutes
- Assemble ingredients in a trifle dish layering shortcake, macerated strawberries, pudding, Cool-Whip, and then repeat (as needed)
- You can add sliced strawberries on the side to make a beautiful eye catching center piece
- End with Cool-Whip and top with fresh strawberries
