One of the first concerns I had during the quarantine was getting masks that would fit our kids. Finding face masks for kids is luckily getting a lot easier.
Now you can find a wide variety of masks. Soft, comfortable, stylish, adjustable. All of these are available for kids.
Even top companies like Disney, Old Navy, and Crayola are making cute masks for kids.
Should children wear masks?
Right now the CDC recommends that all children, accept those under the age of 2 wear masks when out in public.
The CDC doesn’t recommend you put a mask on a child under age 2 because their is a risk of suffocation.
Masks should cover your child’s nose and mouth for the most effectiveness.
How can I get my 2 year old to wear a mask?
If you have a 2 or 3 year old, try making the experience fun with a character mask or print with something they really love.
Don’t force the mask on your toddler, just give it a try and see how they react. If they accept it try keeping it on them for a short walk around the block or around the house.
Add masks to their dress up clothes so they can experiment with them. If the mask is too loose try an adjustable mask. Some companies are making masks especially for little ones.
I’ve been really surprised at my 2 year old’s willingness to wear a mask. He doesn’t want me to take it off. I think he thinks it’s a super hero costume.
