This post is brought to you by Otamot, perfect for making Mac and Cheese for picky kids. All content is my own.

My kids love eating Mac and Cheese! Tomato Mac and Cheese with Otamot is definitely one of their favorites.

When you have picky kids Mac and Cheese is always a good go-to recipe that everyone will eat.

Getting them proper nutrition is sometimes a hurdle. Which is why I love this Mac and Cheese recipe!

Why is Macaroni and Cheese good for picky eaters?

Mac and Cheese is the best for picky eaters because most kids naturally love it. Even the picky ones.

If you don’t add any toppings, like Parmesan or whole tomatoes then it looks just like plain noodles.

Even my Tomato Macaroni and cheese recipe looks plain enough for picky kids to eat it without question.

How can I make my Macaroni and Cheese more nutritious for my picky kids?

Making Macaroni and Cheese more nutritious for picky kids is easy with Otamot Essential Sauce.

Otamot sauce is made mindfully with nutrition in mind. The ingredients are simple whole foods like tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and sweet potatoes to name a few.

This sauce is vitamin rich with vitamins B, D, E, and K. Which is great since most of these vitamins aren’t in typical store bought food items.

Amazingly Otamot is also free of sugar, Non-GMO, and gluten free.

As a mom of picky eaters I love that this sauce is delicious and really packs a nutritious punch that my kids are totally unaware of.

It tastes just like any other spaghetti sauce, but they are getting so much out of it.

How can I make a nutritious Tomato Mac and Cheese my kids will love?

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb macaroni noodles cooked according to box instructions
  • 1 jar Otamot Essential Sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbs flour
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • shredded parmesan
  • salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet melt butter and whisk in olive oil
  2. Whisk in flour to make a roux (this should take about 10 seconds)
  3. Gradually whisk in milk to your desired thickness (add more milk if you want the sauce to be thinner)
  4. Stir in cheese until it’s melted and combined in the sauce
  5. Add in tomato sauce and stir until combined
  6. Combine sauce with cooked macaroni noodles
  7. Add salt to taste

Can I make Tomato Mac and Cheese into a casserole?

Yes! If you want your Tomato Mac and Cheese to be crispier and in a casserole add the macaroni noodles to a casserole dish.

Top with a cheese and panko mixture and bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.

If your kids are anything like mine they might not want anything added to their Macaroni and Cheese. I always try to give them the plain first then ask if they are okay with me adding more.
