Simple Ways to get Baby Excited About Food

Getting your baby excited about food is a great first start to raise a child who is confident about food and not afraid to try new things.

Eating solids is a whole new world for babies. They are naturally going to be curious about the food they eat.

Make this transition fun and exciting for them as they learn about fruits and vegetables.

How do I teach my baby to love food?

Starting solids is a fun and exciting time for mom and baby.

They are becoming more independent and also learning good eating habits early on.

Here are some simple tips to make eating solids fun:

  • Get a variety of food so your baby is exposed to different flavors. Learn what they like and don’t like. Beech-Nut Naturals jar purees have such fun and tasty flavors like Bananas, Just Apple & Kale, and Banana Orange Pineapple.

They come in different stages starting with smooth, single-ingredient purees for 4-month-olds, so you have some guidance about what flavors and textures are right for your baby.
  • Talk to your baby– While your baby is eating talk to them about what they are eating and what you are doing. Ask them if it’s yummy? Ask them if they want another bite? The whole process is a learning experience.
  • Positive Reinforcement– Make a big deal when your baby takes a bite of food. Give them praise! They will be more excited to take another bite and will love mealtime for all the attention. This is a great way to help picky eaters.
  • Let them explore– Let your baby be curious about what they are eating. Give them the jar of baby food to hold and look at while you get a spoon and bib ready. Let them practice holding the spoon in their hand. Don’t be afraid to let them get messy in their high chair.

They will love being able to touch their food and put it in their mouths and practice with a spoon. I really like getting colorful baby food jars. Beech-Nut Naturals have such fun jars with bright green lids that my baby loves to look at.

How do I choose the right baby food?

Choose a food that will make meal time fun!

I really love Beech-Nut Naturals because they are inspired by homemade. They have so many nutritious and tasty flavors like I mentioned above.

Beech-Nut® baby food really has a dedication to quality with the availability of organic and non-GMO foods and only ingredients a baby could pronounce. The Naturals™ jars are 100% natural with nothing artificial added — just look at the label!

How do you make mealtime fun for your baby? I’d love to hear your tips in the comments below!
